Visit the interactive theatrical production Eve of St. George
Inspired by New York City’s smash-hit production Sleep No More, Eve of St. George is a voyeuristic and seductive recreation of Bram Stoker’s chilling tale of Dracula. If you and your partner are theatre enthusiasts, this one is for you!
Upon arrival, guests don masks and are set free to roam the four levels of The Great Hall, re-imagined as a gothic Victorian setting for the stories of 16 characters to unfold. Each guest decides their own adventure for the evening, by choosing to follow a character, riffling through their personal effects as they travel through the building, or remaining in one room to watch what unfolds — and perhaps even interacting with a character. This is a unique theatre production that is a significant departure from standard shows that Toronto theatre-goers are used to seeing. This is the first and only interactive theatrical experience of its kind in Toronto. Tickets are $60-$90 and available here.
Want to learn something while going on a date? Well, look no further than 1979, the latest play to grace the stage at the gorgeous Berkley Street Theatre. Written by Michael Healey, this funny and insightful political play tells the story of the few months Joe Clark spent as prime minister back in 1979. It’s a raucous, outrageously entertaining lesson in Canadian history. Even if the date doesn’t result in a second outing, at least you’ll learn something! Tickets are available for as little as $20.
